halloween-2

Zane & Claire have been close since they were babies
Caleb, Zane, Austin, LilaKate, & Claire waiting for the Karnish kids to arrive so we could eat and go trick-or-treating

This little pumpkin's got 'back'.
LilaKate & Claire were pumpkins. Lizzy was a pirate.
Amber wasn't going to dress up, but Claire talked her into being a french man & did her make up for her, too. The kids all had a great time together. The weather was wonderful and except for David being in Illinois, it was a perfect Halloween!

i love fall

I love fall! I like football, sweatshirts, creamy caramel candles from Bath & Body, pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks, pumpkins, changing leaves, scarves, hot chocolate, bon fires, hay rides, and SO much more. Last weekend when driving down our road, took some of these pictures. It's so pretty out here this time of year! my favorite tree in our yard

memaw

This weekend while the boys were all at deer camp, LilaKate & I stayed at my parents. On Sunday my aunt and uncle brought my Memaw up for a visit. Do you see her pretty fingernails? The ladies that work at her nursing home do the residents nails every Friday. Is that sweet or what? Her nails look better than mine. I actually can't remember the last time I polished my fingernails. These pics of LK with her great grandma(Memaw) are treasures to me. Memaw is 99 years old and even though she is in good health, at 99 you just never know. Each time we are together I tell her I love her and hug and kiss her. I always think...what if it is the last time I get the chance? Really though, shouldn't we treat all our friends and family that way- like it was the last time we might see them or have the chance to tell them how much they mean to us?

making memories

This weekend David took the boys to Seguin, TX to deer hunt. They had an amazing time. Zane shot his first deer ever... A 7 point buck! He also shot a doe. Austin got a 9 point buck. It was only his 2nd buck he's ever shot. I don't understand hunting myself, but I do know the bond they have because of it. I am thankful they get to do guy stuff together & make memories that will last a lifetime.

pumpkin patch-1

Monday, the kids were out of school for parent/teacher conferences. We decided to go to McGarrah Farms. Last year, we didn't go, so it was LilaKate's first time. She loved all the 'balls'.they had pumpkins of all shapes and sizes

a quick picture moment. LK was more interested in the hay than getting her picture taken David pulling the princess
the boys getting ready to race through the corn maze
me, lost in the corn maze
Zane couldn't find his way out, so he just cut through one of the rows

pumpkin patch-3

The boys going through the hay tunnel. They said it was really small in there. LilaKate enjoyed the wagon ride and listening to a little country music on Austin's iphone
resting before we pick out our pumpkins
A family picture
the boys were dying to ride in the wagon too, so before we left I gave them a quick ride

daddy dressed her

The princess sleeps on her tummy and every morning her waistband is soaked. So, we grab a pair of pajama bottoms and put them on until time to get dressed for the day. Today, while I went to get Zane from a sleepover, she kept giving this tutu to her daddy. He put it on her and viola her mismatched adorable little self. I think she's getting more teeth. She keeps her hands in her mouth all the time these days.
telling Zane something
trying to keep Z from getting the ball

time to bake

It is a known fact that I don't love to cook. I do however enjoy baking occasionally. The fall weather this weekend got me in the kitchen... I made 2 pumpkin pies. At our house 1 just doesn't last long. The men in my family LOVE pumpkin pie.
It was my turn to take snacks to our small group. I saw this recipe on another blog, Kelly's Korner, and thought I'd try it. You know, there's nothing like making something you've never tried before to take somewhere...I have never make red velvet cake. It is REALLY red. Like blood red, Razorback red....really red
after you bake the cake, you crumble it while it's warm into a large bowl and mix in a can of frosting. I used cream cheese frosting. Then you roll out balls- it's VERY messy.

Then you dip the balls in melted almond bark. They looked terrible, but I'd invested so much time, I sent them with David to church anyway and they were actually a hit. You can use any kind of cake and icing, and you can dip them in chocolate too.
I also made a breakfast casserole for church. I love this stuff because it doesn't have anything green in it. I know some people love that stuff, but I'm a plain jane. I like mine with bread, eggs, sausage, and cheese. It also has some milk and spices too but NO veggies.

relaxing weekend

Zane & LilaKate enjoying a sucker on the way to the Shiloh Homecoming game
We finally took LilaKate to a football game and it was the coldest one of the year so far! She had fun watching 'ball' and eating her popcorn out of her can.

I hid the Elmo book for a few days- is that terrible? I just couldn't read it one more time. So, she picked out Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? I think I read it 25 times. She loves it. Camo also liked it. I realize LilaKate is mismatched. Her daddy put her down for a nap in this sweatshirt and pajama bottoms...she didn't seem to mind.
I got this cute onesie at the craft fair at the Convention Center. They embroidered a black L with pink rhinestones, and her name in pink. I love it! You may notice she hasn't had a hairbow on in the last few pics. I guess at 15 months she's decided she doesn't like them very much anymore. I will keep trying, but I'm just thankful she's worn them as long as she has!

5th grade homecoming party

The 5th grade had their Homecoming party at Kidz Inc.

Cameron, Tyler, Zane, & Connor at the Pep Rally!

kind of funny

this week I let LK ride on one of the annoying, germ infested rides at the mall. At first, she seemed to like it...
but then, she bumped her face when it was moving back and forth
so she wanted off, but the ride went on without her...hopefully she won't want to do that again for awhile!

zane's fishing trip

Last Saturday, Oct. 10th, Zane went fishing with his Grandad. They went to the White River. Grandad picked Zane up from school and they drove over to Cedar Springs bed & breakfast. They got up early and fished until around 2. Zane caught 56 fish! They had a blast!
The 10 biggest fish they caught
They had a great time together! I'm thankful that my kids have grandparents that love spending time with them!

hogs beat auburn

Last weekend Aunt Tracee & Uncle Kenny came to visit. LilaKate didn't cry at all about Kenny. She even played with him and had lots of fun-yay! This pic is of her playing with Nunu(what my kids call Tracee)
Being a faithful Razorback and cheering our HOGS to a win against Auburn(Oct.10th). She even learned to call the hogs. David & Austin went to the game, Kenny watched the game on the big screen upstairs, and me, LK, & Tra watched it in the living room, Zane was on a fishing trip with Grandad...pics coming soon!
